CHERuB Project Schedule

Planning Phase [Complete]
November – December, 2013

Finalize architecture, conduct fabric upgrade on campus Internet gateway router.

Deployment Phase [In Process]
January – June, 2014

Upgrades will be made to the campus Internet gateway router (“MX0”) and the router serving SDSC (“Medusa”) to enable 100G distribution, and connected to the CENIC 100G feed. Connections will be lit and tested to Medusa, Prism@UCSD and the campus production network at Node B. DYNES equipment will be connected and tested. Basic documentation will be produced.

Test Phase
June – December, 2014

Testing will include throughput tests from High Energy Physics to FNAL and NERSC, investigation into flow measurement, and testing with OpenFlow and/or OSCARS.

Production Phase
September, 2014 – September, 2015

Production data runs from all science drivers. Online user guide available. Additional testing. Official transfer to campus NGN network by September 2015.
